Colored pencil. I like how this looks like an old seed packet a little bit.

ICAD #4 - Cave Painting
Made with paper clay, chalk ink, distress ink, pencil.
This was inspired by the ATC I made for a swap that was meant to be in the style of prehistoric art. I suspect my partner didn't much care for it. I really liked it. It just shows you what art is about, isn't it? Truly in the eye of the beholder, and a matter of personal taste and feeling.
I had fun with the technique on that ATC, and decided to try again.
ICAD #3 - Missing
I have been missing my brother. Thinking about him ajd father's day, and how his children are missing out on such a great Dad. Thinking about my Dad, who lost a son. And just... missing him.

ICAD #2 (6/17/11) - Trying out new stamps
I got a few new rubber stamps (and one foam freebie) from the Addicted to Rubber Stamps close-out sale, so of course I had to try them out.

Pink rose in the love garden.
I love this rose. It's such a gorgeous color. I wish I had better luck with roses but at least this one is doing well! It's in the "love garden," with the Blushing Bride hydrangeas.

First rose of 2011
Even though it's raining non-stop, there are signs of spring.
I've had a cold for two weeks.

21 Secrets: Playing with Patterns
I am having a lot of fun with this class! I am going to have to find some more foam stamps to play with. I love how this came out and actually plan to use it in a larger multimedia piece. But I'm also making lots of pages for journaling.

21 Secrets: Urban Layer Cake
This is the first lesson I have completed in the 21 Secrets journaling workshop. It is "urban layer cake," a technique using fiber paste and layered acrylics placed on with a credit card.
I ended up painting over the words because it really bothered me that I had messed up. I'll re-journal and re-post.

Before: Ugly Hedges
Today the work begins on our front yard landscaping. Here you see the ugly hedges they are about to tear out. Hooray! I can't wait for them to be gone. I've hated them since the day we moved in.

We are both blooming!
This beautiful amaryllis was sent to me just as I got out of the hospital from my surgery 6 weeks ago. It was jus a bulb. Now, 6 weeks later, it is full bloom and I am progressing well, having passed the 6 week exam with flying colors.
Now, as I start physical therapy, here is another bud. I hope to be walking in 4 weeks... Will the bud be in bloom?
